About Me

In order to tell you about my fitness journey I must start out by telling you how it all started for me. I was born with a birth defect called Spina Bifida as well as hydrocephalus which would have killed me had a plastic tube called a shunt not been placed in my head. It left me with nerve damage, one misaligned leg, trouble with balance, coordination range of motion and mobility. All my medical complications (as they often do) came with trauma, sympathy, learning difficulties and often being misunderstood and underestimated. All that consumed time and attention to the point where I didn't discover that I also had ADHD that wasn't diagnosed and treated until I turned 43! Despite my challenges I have been inspired from a young age to devote my career to help others with disabilities discover their authentic selves. This has lead me to live by a mantra that encapsulates my beginning, my experience and my path forward.

" The meaning of life is to find your gift. The purpose of life is to give it away." Pablo Picasso

I have a masters degree in special education and completed post masters coursework in applied behavior analysis. Throughout my career I have worked with all kinds of people from all sorts of backgrounds. I am not just a teacher and I am not just a personal trainer. I firmly believe and teach that mental and physical health are so connected and must be improved together in order to transform your lifestyle and smash your goals in the gym, the community and within yourself.  A have worked tirelessly to synthesize my life experience with my professional experience. As a result I developed a unique approach to health that combines personal training with mental health coaching to create Grádam Coaching. This approach is for everyone and will be custom made to be unique to each person I connect with throughout the process.
